Three Year Anniversary

This year has gone by really quickly and its interesting to note how they say that time seems to accelerate as you get older. And it has definitely been true that I have been dialing back on many fronts, so that may days are much more clean (perhaps a little too ascetic and boring). It means get up to go to practice, be it kung fu or pilates, go to work and then a short work out in the evening with most of time reserved for the kids. I have even stopped watching much television because it disrupts my meditation before going to bed. Just some light reading, on a variety of topics.

With regards to the blog, as most bloggers know, inspiration comes in spurts and I have not been dedicating quite as much time to the blog of late. For that I apologize. However it is because most of my progress this year has been incremental, building on what has come from another year of practice. But some key breakthroughs have come through doing more push hands and visiting different masters overseas. I have also began to teach Baguazhang to one of my friends also, which helps my learning. The key topics remain the following, unchanged from the previous year, but having changed the layout of my blog, it has been easier to track pageviews and comments.

(1) Baguazhang - mainly Gao Style
(2) Other Internal Arts - mainly Taichi and Yiquan
(3) Other martial arts - training methods and history
(4) Cinema - martial arts movies and cultural movies
(5) Health - Traditional Chinese Medicine in the modern day
(6) Health - Alternative Healing
(7) Yoga, Pilates, Gyrotonic
(8) Aikido
(9) Other Japanese Martial Arts - mainly Koryu, Kenjitsu and Kendo
(10) Poetry - Japanese and Chinese
(11) Chinese and Japanese Calligraphy
(12) Modern sport training methods and application to martial arts

Again like last year I wanted to take a chance to thank my regular readers like Rick, Walt, Paul, Hermann,  Felicia, and any one else who I have forgotten and people who have linked to my blog on other sites as well as contacted me directly through email. I promise the rush to the finish of the year will be better, and I have a good idea of a few interesting new topics to discuss.
