Qigong and Aura Photography

One of my fellow students who studies Blu-e (see my other posts on Blu-e if you don't know what it is) as well as Qigong recently went to have her aura photograph taken, and here are the results before and after she "powered up" - i.e. went into a Qi state. The first picture is the before and the second picture is the after photo. The photos were taken literally one after the other, so there wasn't any change in her immediate surroundings and as you can see the results are quite marked.

An Aura is the electromagnetic energy field that supposedly surrounds, encompasses and permeates the body as well as all living things. The colors and patterns within this energy field constitute a blueprint (the results of the energy we radiate from our feelings, thoughts, and physical being). Until recently, Auras were only seen by the few who had a gift to see colors (and hence open to criticism from sceptics).  An inventor called Guy Coggins took this work a big step forward by combining his research on Kirlian photography with the research on biofeedback to produce a camera called the Aura Camera 6000.

So what is Aura Photography? Aura photography is a visual image of how we are functioning. To take an AuraCam picture, the subject sits and rests his hands on the leads of a galvanometer. The camera codes the electrical readings into frequencies (which correspond to certain colors) and process the photograph, a computer sorts the information and prints the Aura Photograph. These measurements are expressed as vibrational levels which a computer chip turns into their relevant colors. A data cable from the sensor takes the information to the camera which takes a double exposure (your image plus superimposing of colors collected from the sensors). This photograph of all the collected data superimposed on the image is the Aura photo. Through the analysis of this picture we can gain a deeper insight into our emotional - mental states, heal and spiritual well-being.

How are the colors determined? Coggins actually gives several different answers on his web site: that the colors are determined by corresponding electrical frequencies; that the colors were chosen in consultation with psychics to produce the same colors seen by psychics; and that they are based on the writings of Dr. Max Luscher, correlating personality with color preferences. The color interpretations are meant to be universal in meaning. The reader takes the photo and interprets the particles of colors based upon their placement on the photo.

For one interpretation of color meanings you can link to the following site here

So what does this mean? Regardless of whether you believe in the existence of an aura or not, or whether you agree with the interpretations, there was an objective difference in the electrical measurements given off by the body without and overt change in the environment or circumstances. So this "powering up" consists of nothing more than a shift of intention - she did not start jumping around the room and do any Tai Chi or Qigong movements. Even if qigong or Blu-e training is nothing more than the use of your mind to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, this is quite a powerful result, and for Blu-e good results can be achieved in a two day workshop. This also validates that some of the subjective sensations felt by people in a Qi state, be it in Tai Chi or Qigong, can be to a degree measured objectively.

As an aside the point of this post is not to analyze the colors but one can see the preponderance of the blue / violet colors in the second picture (Blu-e energy!) versus the lower frequency reds in the original picture.
